A dedicated trade association for UPVC and kitchen spraying professionals has launched in the UK, aiming to bring greater support, structure, and visibility to a sector that has seen significant growth in recent years.

The UPVC and Kitchen Sprayers Association (UKSA) was officially established this month, offering a membership platform that includes access to training resources, business development tools, industry discounts, and peer networking opportunities. The organisation also hopes to play a wider role in promoting best practice standards across the industry.

Filling a Gap in the Market

Despite the increasing popularity of UPVC and kitchen spraying as a cost-effective alternative to full replacement, there has previously been no formal body representing the interests of sprayers at a national level. The launch of the UKSA seeks to address that, giving both self-employed tradespeople and larger firms a dedicated voice within the home improvement and refurbishment sectors.

Speaking about the formation of the association, a UKSA spokesperson said:
"The UPVC and kitchen spraying sector has grown substantially over the last decade, but the lack of standardisation and support for businesses has been a real challenge. Our aim is to provide a professional framework that supports sprayers in improving their skills, protecting their businesses, and delivering consistently high-quality work."

Member Services and Industry Benefits

At launch, UKSA members will have access to a range of resources, including:

  • Technical training materials and webinars
  • Supplier partnerships offering exclusive product discounts
  • Business and marketing support tools
  • Access to a private member forum for networking and advice

The association has also indicated that it plans to organise training days and demo events around the UK in the near future, aimed at raising standards and increasing confidence in the sector.

An Evolving Industry

The move comes at a time when the UK’s UPVC spraying market is expanding, driven by consumer demand for more sustainable and cost-effective home improvements. The ability to refresh tired kitchens and windows through spraying, rather than full replacement, has become particularly popular in both residential and commercial sectors.

However, the lack of standardisation in training and common practices has led to inconsistencies in quality across the market. It is hoped that the formation of a trade body will help drive improvements, offering customers greater assurance when hiring a sprayer and helping businesses build a stronger reputation for professional workmanship.

Looking Ahead

The UKSA says that future plans will be shaped by member input, with a focus on education, industry advocacy, and the development of recognised credentials for skilled sprayers. The association also plans to eventually hold awards events to celebrate the achievements of businesses within the industry.

Further details about membership and upcoming initiatives can be found at the UKSA's official website.
